BKB has a long and seasoned tradition of providing its members with a sense of community and extended family through its spiritual, social and educational activities. This special tradition was established when BKB was founded in 1990, and by years of mindful stewardship and caring by the congregation’s spiritual leadership, its Board of Directors, and by the generous volunteerism of its active membership. Today BKB has over 250 members with the distinction of being an adult-only congregation for those over 50 who seek a Traditional Reform affiliation.
Our services and ritual observances are open to all. BKB is a Traditional Reform Congregation that observes Shabbat Services twice a month and observes many ritual holidays. Led by our Spiritual Leaders, our talented choir and our Music Director, Tim Cooper, you’ll find our services to be warm and engaging, filled with song, member-participation, and shared joy.
In the spirit of being an “extended family,” BKB offers many member-services designed to give spiritual and psychological comfort in challenging times. Our professional staff offers Chaplaincy Services and will make hospital and home visits to those who are ill or bereaved, will preside over funerals and memorials; as well as over simchas, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and more. Your fellow congregants are also there for you through various caring committees.
Whether you are married, partnered, or single, come and join us! Our congregation and volunteers are dedicated to making you feel at home and that you have a sense of belonging. So many of our congregants are from elsewhere. They have come to retire to Las Vegas, while family and friends live elsewhere. As a result, our congregants have found that belonging to BKB has filled a void through its offerings and member-participation in its many activities.
